Mistakes to avoid

Do not mix up the two boxes. The larger number, the people you invited, goes in the second box, and the responses you received go in the first. Only count people you actually reached; if 100 emails bounced, do not include those 100 in the invited total. Count completed responses, not half-finished ones, so your figure is honest. Finally, remember a high response rate alone does not prove your sample was fair, but a very low one is a clear reason to be cautious.

Worked example
