Switching between PaperSurvey plans never incurs additional fees. You only pay for the service you actually use, with any changes calculated fairly through prorated billing.
This means you can adjust your plan as often as needed without worrying about hidden charges or penalties.
How Plan Changes Work
When you switch plans, we calculate the difference fairly:
- Upgrading: Your new plan starts a fresh billing cycle right away, and unused time on your old plan is applied as credit to that first invoice
- Downgrading: Your current plan runs until the end of the period you already paid for, then the lower plan begins. There is no charge today and no credit, since you keep exactly what you paid for
- No switching fees: Change plans as often as needed
Billing Examples
Upgrade scenario:
- Current plan: $20/month, halfway through the month
- New plan: $50/month
- You receive a $10 credit for the unused half of your old plan and pay $40 for a full new month. Your renewal date resets to the day you upgrade
Downgrade scenario:
- Current plan: $50/month
- New plan: $20/month
- You are not charged today. You keep the $50 plan until the end of your current period, then the $20 plan starts at your next renewal
When Changes Take Effect
Plan upgrades activate immediately and reset your billing cycle. Plan downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period. Your data and work remain accessible throughout.
Switching Billing Periods
You can also switch between monthly and yearly billing:
- Monthly to yearly: This is treated as an upgrade. The annual plan starts right away, credit for the unused part of your current month is applied to the first invoice, and your renewal date resets
- Yearly to monthly: This is treated as a downgrade. You keep your annual plan until the end of the period you paid for, then monthly billing begins
Making the Right Choice
Review your usage in Account settings before switching. If you are a regular user, consider yearly billing, which works out to two free months compared with paying monthly. Our support team can also help you choose the right plan.
