How upgrade billing works

When you upgrade mid-cycle:

1. We calculate your unused days on the current plan
2. Convert this to a credit amount
3. Apply it to your new plan cost
4. You pay only the difference

Real example

Scenario: Upgrading from $20 Standard to $50 Enterprise plan

If you've used 15 days of your $20 plan:

• Credit for unused time: $10
• New plan monthly cost: $50
• Your payment: $40 (for the full month on Enterprise)
• Next month: Regular $50

The math behind proration

We calculate daily rates for accuracy:

Current plan daily rate = $20 ÷ 30 days = $0.67/day
Unused days = 15
Credit = $0.67 × 15 = $10

Common upgrade scenarios

Early in billing cycle:

• More unused time = larger credit
• Lower upgrade payment

Late in billing cycle:

• Less unused time = smaller credit
• Higher upgrade payment

Upgrading on renewal date:

• No proration needed
• Pay full price of new plan

What about downgrading?

The same fair system applies:

• Unused time becomes account credit
• Credit applies to future bills
• No refunds to payment method

If you change plans multiple times:

• Each change is prorated
• Credits and charges calculated precisely
