Duplicating Surveys

Creating a new survey from scratch when you already have a similar one is unnecessary work. Duplicating a survey creates an exact copy with all questions, settings, and formatting preserved, saving you significant time when building variations or new versions of existing forms.

How to duplicate a survey

  1. Open the survey you want to copy
  2. Click on Survey Settings in the navigation
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the settings page
  4. Click the "Duplicate survey" button
  5. In the dialog, adjust the name of the copy (it defaults to the original name with a "(Copy)" suffix) and choose where the copy should go
  6. Click Duplicate. Your new copy will appear in your survey list

The dialog lets you duplicate to the current folder, to one or more specific folders (a separate copy is created in each selected folder), or, if you manage more than one team, to a different team.

To copy several surveys at once, select them on your dashboard using the checkboxes and choose Bulk actions, then Duplicate. Each copy is created in the current folder with a "(Copy)" suffix.

What gets copied

When you duplicate a survey, the following elements carry over:

  • All questions and their settings
  • Page layouts and formatting
  • Custom branding and logos
  • Footer text and instructions
  • Language translations (if any)
  • Form settings and configurations
  • Webhooks (except Zapier connections)
  • Accepted Answers auto-verification rules
  • Analysis views and their widgets

What does not get copied

  • Collected responses and data
  • Uploaded scans
  • The Google Sheets connection (the copy starts disconnected; your column configuration is kept, so reconnecting restores the same columns)
